How much does Cedral cladding cost?

It depends entirely on your property, so we do not publish prices. Wall area, scaffolding and access, the condition of the existing wall, whether insulation is being added, and the number of windows and corners all move the figure significantly, which is why every quote follows a free on-site survey. You then get a fixed written quote within a few days.

Do you charge for a survey or quote?

No. Site surveys and quotations are free and carry no obligation. We measure the property, assess the access and the condition of the existing wall, and give you a written quote within a few days.

Is Cedral suitable for a coastal property?

Yes, and it is one of the reasons we recommend it in Cornwall. It is fibre cement, so salt air, driving rain, frost, rot and insects do not affect it the way they affect timber.

Is cladding cheaper than rendering?

Usually not upfront. The comparison changes over time, because Cedral does not need repainting and painted render needs redecorating on a cycle and can crack and need repair, particularly on exposed coastal elevations. Cedral quotes an expected service life of over 50 years.

Is the cladding fitted by your own team?

Yes. Our own employed installers fit every Cedral installation. They are all CSCS-accredited and fully trained on the products they fit.

Lap or Click?

Cedral Lap overlaps like traditional painted weatherboard. The classic Cornish look, and what most period and coastal properties suit.

Cedral Click sits flush and interlocks, and can run horizontally or vertically. Cleaner and more contemporary, popular on extensions and newer builds.

Why fibre cement beats timber, composite and render

Most people arrive undecided between cladding types, or between cladding and a re-render.
Cornwall's weather narrows it down quickly.

Vs Timber

Timber needs treating or repainting on a cycle, and on exposed coastal elevations it can rot, warp and attract insects. Fibre cement doesn't rot and isn't affected by insects. Several of our Cornish jobs have involved replacing failed timber.

Vs Composite and uPVC

Plastic-based boards expand and contract far more with temperature, need generous movement gaps, and can fade in strong sun. Fibre cement barely moves, and its factory-applied finish needs no routine repainting.

Vs Render

Render usually costs less upfront, but it needs repainting on a cycle and can crack on exposed coastal walls. Cedral needs no routine repainting, and the manufacturer quotes a service life of over 50 years.

Vs Doing Nothing

Exposed stone and brickwork take a battering from wind-driven rain and salt. Cladding adds a ventilated protective skin, and if you're considering insulation, adding it during cladding avoids paying for scaffolding twice.

We had new insulation, new felt on top and then clad with Click Cedral. Communication with Lee, the company director, was easy and always responded in a timely manner. The fitters did a great job with the installation. They were very helpful, informative and left no mess.
