Cedral Cladding at a Property in Mevagissey

Nestled in the picturesque coastal village of Mevagissey, our latest project involved the application of Cedral cladding to a charming property. This undertaking not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the home but also improved its durability and energy efficiency. Cedral cladding, known for its robustness and elegant finish, was the perfect choice for this property, enabling us to marry form and function seamlessly.

The Essence of Cedral Cladding

Cedral cladding is a popular choice for modern homeowners due to its combination of aesthetic versatility and practical benefits. Made from a mixture of cement, cellulose, and other mineral materials, Cedral cladding is designed to withstand the harshest weather conditions while maintaining its beauty over time. It offers a low-maintenance solution that does not compromise on style, making it ideal for properties in coastal areas like Mevagissey.

Aesthetic Appeal

One of the standout features of Cedral cladding is its wide range of colours and finishes. This variety allows homeowners to customize their exterior to reflect their personal style. For our Mevagissey project, we selected a soft, coastal-inspired hue that complemented the natural surroundings and the traditional architecture of the village. The smooth finish provided a sleek, contemporary look that enhanced the property’s curb appeal. The choice of C01 White Woodgrain Cedral Lap accentuates the properties features.

Durability and Longevity

In coastal regions, properties are exposed to salty air, high winds, and heavy rainfall, which can all take a toll on building materials. Cedral cladding is specifically engineered to resist these elements, providing long-lasting protection for the property. Its resistance to moisture prevents issues such as rot and warping, which are common with traditional wood cladding. Additionally, Cedral cladding is fire-resistant and pest-resistant, ensuring the safety and integrity of the home for years to come.

Installation Process

The installation of Cedral cladding requires precision and expertise to ensure a flawless finish. Our team of skilled professionals approached the Mevagissey project with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every panel was perfectly aligned and securely fastened.

Preparation

Our fitters carefully plan for all eventualities, building the framework, adding the profiles (using Marine Grade ‘A’ stainless steel fixings) and measuring where each board will start and finish, mapping that out around the entire building.

Installation

The Cedral cladding panels were then carefully measured and cut to fit the dimensions of the property. Using high-quality fixings, the panels were installed starting from the bottom and working upwards. This method ensures that each panel overlaps the one below, providing effective water runoff and preventing moisture ingress. Tanalised battens are used and on the lap system DPC is used on all joins.

Finishing Touches

Once all panels were in place, the edges and corners were neatly trimmed, and any gaps were sealed to create a seamless appearance. The final step involved a thorough inspection to ensure that the installation met our high standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Benefits for the Homeowners

The homeowners in Mevagissey were delighted with the transformation of their property. The Cedral cladding not only enhanced the visual appeal of their home but also brought several practical benefits.

Energy Efficiency

Cedral cladding acts as an additional layer of insulation, helping to regulate the temperature inside the home. This improved thermal efficiency reduces the need for artificial heating and cooling, leading to lower energy bills and a smaller carbon footprint.
